[SHOT Show 2017] Smith Two Point O: The New M&P M2.0 Pistol

This morning the Smith & Wesson Corporation released official word of their new handgun: the M&P M2.0. The new pistol is a striker-fired polymer weapon on an extended stainless steel chassis, available in 9mm, 40S&W, and .45. For those of you with sartorial concerns, it launches in either black or FDE.

The M&P M2.0 will have a number of changed features from its predecessor, intended to improve ergonomics, performance, control, and durability, including an extended stainless steel chassis and what they tell us are a “…crisper trigger and lighter pull…” It will ship with four interchangeable palmswell inserts to more closely accommodate different sized hands, and two magazines.

What is the NSSF SHOT Show?

The NSSF SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show) and Conference is an annual event held by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Typically attended by thousands of people from all 50 states and over a hundred countries, it is (quite rightfully) described as the “…world's premier exposition of combined firearms, ammunition, law enforcement, cutlery, outdoor apparel, optics, and related products and services.

Imagine the Worlds' Fair, but packed with everything from mini-guns and every breed of body armor, bows and boots; from eye pro and ear pro to optics and ordnance, socks to swords…you get the idea.
