In an effort to continue bringing you the best content we can, our team decided to try its collective hand at something new – live events. Our goal was not just to bring great content to you, but to bring it right to you.
From that desire came Summit In The Sand, a 1-½ day event training-focused event held at CowTown Range in Phoenix, Arizona.
Day One was a fully loaded training circuit covering an eclectic array of topics. All of the instructors were Subject Matter Experts in their respective fields as well as RECOIL contributors. We wanted to reach far beyond the traditional pistol and carbine curricula. Our round-robin-style training day included four 2-hour modules covering each of the following topics:
Weaponize The Senses/Index Tracking, Presented by Freddy Osuna of Greenside Training
Other event sponsors included Federal Ammunition, US Tactical Supply, Hoppe’s, Champion Target, and Brazen Sports. In an effort to reduce student overhead and make the event accessible to as many of our readers as possible, all gear and equipment was provided by these industry partners. Included here are some pictures from Day 1, including students, instructors and gear.
Were you at Summit In The Sand? Have pictures of your own? Post them on your social media, tag @recoilmagazine and use the hashtag #summitinthesand.
For all those students who came out to be a part of Summit Class 001, we appreciate your time and enthusiasm. For everyone else, stay tuned for more coverage of Day 2, and information about future RECOIL Events.
