Last week at Warrior Expo West we stopped by the Beyond booth to take a look at one of their newest offerings: The A5 Rig Light Backcountry Pant.
As we've come to expect from Beyond, you can feel the quality as soon as you start handling it. We're not sure if this is due to the stretchable Tweave fabric, the stitching, or the ultra-smooth zippers. Zippers are actually one of the first things we like to inspect when giving a garment a once-over–because odds are better than even that if a crappy zipper is utilized the rest probably won't be fantastic either.
You can see the stretch of the Tweave here.
The zippered thigh pockets are perfect for cellphones, even the bigassed one seen here.
Grey is the new FDE which was the new Black. And as we see, the Rig Light Backcountry Pant is also available in this colorway. As luck would have it, we had a pair of Arc'teryx pants in Wolf Grey to make a direct comparison.
The Beyond colorway sports a bit more of a subdued hue, and clearly there's more blue in the Arc'teryx offering. You can also get the Beyond pants in Coyote and Multicam.
