The Greatest Action Movie of All Time is now available

Who Killed Captain Alex? We don't know, because none of us can figure out WTAF is going on here. Billed as Uganda's First Action Movie, this epic movie comes to us courtesy of Ramon Film Productions. The entire thing was written, cast and shot from writer-director-producer-editor Nabwana Isaac Godfrey Geoffrey's home in Wakaliga, Uganda for less than $200 (a small fortune in that area).  Wakaliga is a suburb of Kampala, located on the north end of Lake Victoria not too far north of Entebbe. Someone with First World Problems might charitably call it a slum.

The movie begins with Capt. Alex, “Uganda's best soldier,” who is hunting the “Tiger Mafia.” The Tiger Mafia and their mercenaries are the “most deadliest gang in Uganda.” Only the terribly handsome, very brave Alex (who might be a cannibal?) can stop the mafia and “kill them forever.” To that end he initiates Operation Cut Tigerz Ballz, using an elite team of “Ugandan Special-Forcez.” Don't mind the wooden guns — focus on the tactics and warrior ethos of those deadly commandos (and enjoy the ongoing narration) as they capture the Tiger Mafia's leaders brother, beginning a supa violent tale of treachery, revenge, battle and mystery. Will the Tiger Mafia leader be able to kill everyone in the sequel, as he threatens? Who actually killed Capt. Alex? Is he really dead? Are there any geopolitical boundaries the commandos won't cross to find out?

Expect the unexpectable.

You can follow Wakaliwood & Ramon Film Productions Action-packed Fanpage (that's it's real name) right here on Facebook. They advised via Kickstarter update (which surpassed its original goal by over 8k%) that t-shirts and other cool stuff will be available at the Wakaliwood Action-Packed Supa Store.

You'll definitely want to stay abreast of developments there – Nabwana I.G.G. (seen below with his family) and crew are hard at work on their next cinematic masterpiece. They will, in fact, be shooting it at the Nyege Nyege International Film Festival 2015.

It's telling that the original completed movie, filmed in harsh conditions in a poverty-stricken area, was deleted after being uploaded to the net so Nabwana IGG could us it to make his next movie (which apparently will be called Tebaatusasula). Nabwana says he never imagined anyone beyond the confines of his own village would watch it — he had no idea it would go viral, with millions of views. His success is now contributing to the establishment of a real local economy.

Read more about the burgeoning film industry in Wakaliwood right here — in all seriousness, lots of people are taking notice.

Wakaliwood is online here. You can download the entire movie there for free. They also have a YouTube Channel. You can support them on Patreon right here. There's a documentary about them here.
