Last year, Hazard 4 introduced the Pillbox, a hardshell thermocap photo/CCW daypack. This pack set the standard for the tactical photography backpack. But just when you thought a camera bag couldn’t possibly get any better, Hazard 4 figured out a way to improve on perfection.
The new, soon to be released Blastwall puts the Pillbox into a sling pack configuration with some upgraded features that make this new pack even more versatile and user-friendly.
Like it’s Pillbox predecessor, the Blastwall consists of three main sections (camera compartment, laptop/accessory compartment, and CCW/Hydration compartment), each lined with silent pull-tab YKK zipper inside a hard-lined shell. An added side access panel lets the user access the camera without opening the full camera compartment, allowing them to operate from a chest rack position.
The Blastwall also features a removable waist belt, two tripod straps, back panel ventilation, and a MOLLE-lined shoulder strap, and a photo D-ring for tethering the camera. The Photo D-ring system is a unique feature in and of itself. Standard on all new sling systems, the Photo D-ring allows for attachment to the camera tripod screw or quick release receiver. In essence, the shoulder strap of the pack becomes camera strap, which can be adjusted from super tight carry for protection to long for the freedom of movement.
Hazard 4 also has some new HardPoint add-on accessories for the Pillbox and Blastwall. The new Pillbox Beavertail MOLLE cargo panel screws into the HardPoint system holes located on the outer shell of the pack. The panel has adjustable straps for holding external loads. The top straps have quick release buckles that unlock to allow the panel to fold swing down and form an extension pocket that can be used to hold a light firearm or lengthy camera equipment.
Another new HardPoint modular add-on is the Gear Rail. This rail can be screwed onto the pack via the HardPoint mounting system to provide a secure attachment platform for Kydex pouches and sheaths, bungee cord, paracord, carabiners, etc.
These and other new and exciting Hazard 4 products can be found on the Hazard 4 website.
