Daniel Defense and MWSF give away a home during Patriot Weekend

The inaugural “Patriot Weekend” just ended in Pooler, Georgia, and Daniel Defense was the title sponsor. Their goal was to raise some money for the Warrior Transition Battalion at Ft. Stewart; to say they reached their goal is to damn them with faint praise.

First they presented a $22,500 check at the military tribute dinner on Friday night; they and the Military Warrior Support Foundation (MWSF) then awarded the ceremonial key to a mortgage free home to a local soldier and his wife.

The Soldier in question, Specialist Justin Foley, was in an armored vehicle that was struck by an IED in Afghanistan in 2010. Foley, currently assigned to Bravo Company WTB, now awaits medical retirement from the U.S. Army.

“What we want to provide is hope for these warriors and their families,”says Military Warrior Support Foundation's Josh Kisner. “By partnering with great, patriotic companies like Daniel Defense, we are able to put these heroes in a mortgage-free home and help them transition to a successful civilian life.”

Daniel Defense President and CEO Marty Daniel concurred. ““These men and women have heroically given up their bodies in defense of our freedoms. While we can’t give them their health back, we can acknowledge their sacrifice, thank them and their family for their service, and provide spiritual support.”

Very well done, all concerned.
