Gear Aimpoint Releases 2 MOA Micro T-2 Red Dot Sight Recoil Staff October 11, 2014 Join the Conversation Aimpoint needs no introduction when it comes to offering high quality red dot sights. Their Micro T-1 has been one of the hottest optics on the market since it was released nearly three years ago. Aimpoint has now gone one step further with the release of the compact 2 Minute of Angle (2MOA) Micro T-2 optic. The best news is that it will be shipping out this month! If it's not broke, you certainly shouldn't fix it. Aimpoint however apparently saw some room for improvement. With feedback from its key end-users they have introduced a new housing for the Micro T-1 sight, which can integrate protective flip cover and anti-reflection devices. The new housing provides added protection for the adjustment turrets as well as the internal electronics. To provide optimal performance for the new Micro T-2, Aimpoint has upped their game on reflective coatings with an improvement in clarity from any angle offering quick target acquisition. The reflective coating optimal red dot brightness while minimizing energy usage. Various wavelengths in the visible and NIR spectrum are not effected by the coating, which provides a clear image in conjunction with NVD or magnifiers. The red dot optic offers 8 daylight settings and 4 night vision settings. An extra bright setting can be utilized in strong sunlight or in conjunction with laser protection glasses. Aimpoint President, Brian Lisankie says, “Instead of merely making improvements to an existing product, our development group started with a completely new design in terms of the optical components, the Micro T-2 takes the level of performance available from a compact sight to an entirely new level. It also provides features and performance formerly available only in much larger optics.” As with previous red dot sights, the Micro T-2 will mount to many firearms. The Micro T-1 mounts are compatible and you can utilize Aimpoint's 3x Magnifier, Concealed Engagement Unit, and various night vision devices in conjunction with the Micro T-2. Estimated battery life with a CR-2032 Battery is five years and the red dot optic is waterproof up to a depth of 82 feet.
