An Explosive Product – Winchester Model 1893 | The Ashley Update

Hlebinsky, who previously worked at the Smithsonian is exactly the kind of ambassador the shooting community needs. Torrentially well informed, passionate to the point of geekery, and blessed with a wicked sense of humor, she can swill whiskey and smoke cigars while holding forth on black powder muskets until your eyes glaze over. Spreading the gospel of responsible firearms ownership has never been more important, and being able to demystify an inanimate object while educating the public about its role in the nation’s history goes a long way toward countering negative publicity. Ashley has a big update about a new show, Master of Arms. In this week's update, Ashley also shows us an antique rifle that proves safety has always been important.

An Explosive Product – Winchester Model 1893

In this video, Ashley talks about the Winchester Model 1893 shotgun. Based on a John Moses Browning design, the Model 1893 was a part of one of the earliest product recalls in American history. Many cite the transition from black to smokeless powder for the explosion of these guns, but Winchester deposition notes and the study of this gun reveal that may not be the case.
