Gear Apex Tactical’s New AEK Trigger for Smith & Wesson M&P Recoil Staff April 22, 2012 5 Comments, Join the Conversation Apex Tactical has released their new drop-in AEK (Action Enhancement Kit) Trigger for the Smith & Wesson M&P. This trigger is based off the trigger Apex includes with their FSS (Forward Set Sear) and trigger kit, but will work with stock components and Apex’s Duty Carry or Competition Action Enhancement Kits. The AEK is designed to reduce pre-travel and over-travel compared to the factory trigger, and also offers a wider and flatter face. Unlike the hinged trigger safety on the stock Smith & Wesson M&P trigger, the AEK features a center-mounted pivoting safety design similar to the trigger safety on Glocks. The AEK is machined from billet aluminum and hard anodized black. Apex has also announced they are working on a polymer version for those who want a trigger that looks more similar to the stock version.
