Guns [SHOT Show 2017] Christensen Arms Aluminum-Frame 1911 Industry News January 16, 2017 Gunnison, UT based Christensen Arms just announced the release of their new Aluminum-Frame 1911 Handgun. They are showing this up close and personal at SHOT Show if you’re planning to attend. SHOT Show 2017: Christensen Arms Aluminum-Frame 1911 Here’s what they said. Christensen Arms strives to craft the finest 1911 handguns ever produced, and the new A4 (4 inch barrel) and A5 (5 inch barrel) aluminum-framed 1911s are no exception. Currently available in 9MM, each A4 and A5 frame is machined from lightweight 7075 billet aluminum and assembled using only premium components, including a tunable match-grade trigger. They feature a newly designed flat-top, billet stainless steel slide that is hand fit to guarantee a perfectly smooth and highly accurate handgun – a 5-shot, 2 inch group at 25 yards. Weighing in at roughly 2 lbs, the new A4 is the lightest 1911 produced by Christensen Arms. “We are please to expand our 1911 product offerings with the new A4 and A5. They represent the peak in 1911 technology and performance in a lightweight, aluminum frame.” – Jason Christensen, President Christensen Arms More about Christensen Arms in their own words. Founded in Utah in 1995, with roots in the aerospace industry, Christensen Arms developed the first carbon fiber rifle barrel. This patented technology resulted in one of the most innovative advances in firearms within the last two and a half decades. With over 20 years of firearm experience focusing on using top-tier aerospace materials and processes, Christensen Arms manufacturers some of the most lightweight, precise, and accurate firearms in the industry and around the globe. The new Christensen 1911 A4 and A5 are currently shipping to dealers. If you’re rambling about at SHOT Show, you can see these for yourself at the Christensen Arms booth #10574. The NSSF SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show) and Conference is an annual event held by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Typically attended by thousands of people from all 50 states and over a hundred countries, it is (quite rightfully) described as the “…world’s premier exposition of combined firearms, ammunition, law enforcement, cutlery, outdoor apparel, optics, and related products and services. Imagine the Worlds’ Fair, but packed with everything from mini-guns and every breed of body armor, bows and boots; from eye pro and ear pro to optics and ordnance, socks to swords…you get the idea. If you’d like to see a sampling of the companies who will be showing at this year’s SHOT, there’s a live map right here, though it doesn’t reflect the organizations set up elsewhere, in hotel suites, etc View imagery from our coverage of last year’s SHOT Show here; 2015’s is right here.
