Guns Daniel Defense Adds Firearms with Tornado and Mil Spec+ Coating Recoil Staff October 2, 2014 Join the Conversation Daniel Defense is offering new options for direct to customer products. Toward the beginning of the year, Daniel Defense began providing a Mil Spec+ Cerakote finish option on four rifles followed by Tornado grey later in the Spring with their DDM4v5 and DDM4v9. The rifle manufacturer's latest expansion includes offering the Mil Spec+ and Tornado Cerakote finishes on the Daniel Defense M4 Carbine V11. The DDM4V11 was released just last month to much fanfare, probably in no small part thanks to the KeyMod direct attachment system “SLim Rail”. Director of Marketing Jordan Hunter says, “Demand since the release of the V11 has been exceedingly strong. With the encouraging response to these distinct finishes, making them available on this firearm is a no-brainer.” For those seeking a rifle option, Daniel Defense has also released their MK12 Special Purpose Rifle with the Tornado Cerakote Finish. In addition they have matched up the finish with an 18-inch bead blasted stainless steel barrel featuring a chemically passivated finish for protection without changing the aesthetic of the metal. Regardomg the MK12 Rifle, Hunter says, “We’ve invested a lot of man hours and capital toward development of the MK12. The New Tornado finish and bead blasted, stainless steel barrel provide this precision firearm with a new appeal.” Tornado and Mil Spec+ are both great Cerakote finishes for those seeking a new rifle outside the typical black offering and without the need for an aftermarket paint job. Cost differential on MSRP when compared to the black counterpart is just $130 for either of the new coatings, so you are certainly not breaking the bank by getting what you want right out of the case.
