Guns SHOT16: Daniel Defense – New Black Rifles Ryan Houtekamer January 20, 2016 Join the Conversation Daniel Defense has a ton of new rifles coming out this year, and each seems even sexier than the one before (our vote for the most compelling is the Daniel Defense DDM4ISR, though the Daniel Defense DDM4V4S certainly gives it some competition). They have also partnered with Oakley for some signature versions of popular Oakley styles. They have a live streaming setup so you can check out whats going on at the booth here. Here is a small selection of what you will find at their booth. The DDM4V4S is Daniel Defense’s latest short-barreled rifle (SBR). Its design is based on an extremely popular configuration that we’ve been providing to law enforcement personnel and agencies as well as civilian users who demand a lightweight, durable, and dependable SBR. Built around a free-floating, Cold Hammer Forged 11.5” barrel, the DDM4V4s delivers optimal maneuverability, reliability, accuracy, and terminal ballistics using a wide variety of ammunition. Our DDM4 Rail 10.0 shields the rifle’s barrel and carbine length, low profile gas block. This lightweight, ergonomic rail system affords ample room for securely mounting multiple accessories and offers the longest possible sight radius with iron sights. Quick-disconnect attachment points are fully integrated to the front and back of the rail on both sides for tangle-free, ambidextrous sling attachment. Three removable high-temperature-resistant Daniel Defense Rail Panels provide a secure, comfortable grip while also protecting the support hand from heat. Pairing an 11.5” barrel and a DDM4 Rail 10.0 also ensures compatibility with a wide variety of muzzle devices and sound suppressors for even more rifle customization. This platform comes standardly equipped with our rugged and extremely comfortable Daniel Defense Buttstock and Pistol Grip. The Daniel Defense DDM4ISR—optimized for the versatile 300 Blackout cartridge—is now lighter, quieter, and more accurate than ever before. Built around a 9”, Cold Hammer Forged barrel with a pistol-length gas system calibrated for its integral suppressor, this high-performance rifle delivers both subsonic and supersonic projectiles with greatly reduced muzzle blast and flash, helping to conceal a shooter’s location and keep the user on target with faster follow-up shots and less degradation of vision, particularly in low-light situations. The DDM4ISR’s integral suppressor extends the barrel to the NFA-required 16” in length, so this platform is not classified as a Short Barreled Rifle (SBR) and only requires one tax stamp (for the suppressor). The suppressor’s durable tube is finished with high-temp Cerakote-C, capable of withstanding extreme temperatures under harsh conditions, and the user-serviceable baffle core is easily removable for periodic maintenance. The DDM4ISR now comes equipped standard with our long MFR XL 15.0 handguard, which features a continuous 1913 Picatinny rail on its top for mounting iron sights or optics, and also has Keymod attachment points at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions. This longer, multi-functional handguard, in conjunction with a Daniel Defense Buttstock and Pistol Grip, make the DDM4ISR as ergonomic as it is versatile. A resilient, attractive Mil Spec + Cerakote finish not only protects this weapon system from the elements, it also adds to its overall aesthetic, so while you’re driving tacks at the range, you’ll also turn a few heads. Daniel Defense is proud to partner with Oakley in an effort to provide our customers with the most durable and mission critical eyewear protection possible. The SI Fuel Cell is available in Daniel Daniel Mil Spec + and features a small DD logo laser etched into the corner of the lens for a completely custom look. The idea was to create clean, authentic style for those who don’t just walk the path of life – they stomp it and leave footprints. That’s what led to Oakley FUEL CELL. The idea here is unflinching originality and a smooth look. It’s proof that when authenticity speaks for itself, it speaks with volume. You can check out these and much more at booth number 20471 (actually several booths in one strip but you will find it, unless you're still staggering drunk from your adventures on the strip last night). ———– Follow us on Instagram, @RECOILmagazine and keep an eye out for these hashtags: #recoilmagazine, #recoil, #shotshow2016, #mediadayattherange and especially #recoilSHOT2016. The NSSF SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show) and Conference is an annual event held by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Typically attended by thousands of people from all 50 states and over a hundred countries, it is (quite rightfully) described as the “…world's premier exposition of combined firearms, ammunition, law enforcement, cutlery, outdoor apparel, optics, and related products and services. Imagine the Worlds' Fair, but packed with everything from mini-guns and every breed of body armor, bows and boots; from eye pro and ear pro to optics and ordnance, socks to swords…you get the idea. If you'd like to see a sampling of the companies who will be showing at this year's SHOT, there's a live map right here, though it doesn't reflect the organizations set up elsewhere, in hotel suites, etc. View imagery from our coverage of last year's SHOT Show right here. 2016 SHOT Show January 18 — Media on the Range (numerous shooting facilities in and around Las Vegas) January 19–22, 2016 Sands Expo and Convention Center Las Vegas, Nevada Hours: Tuesday, January 19 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 20 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Thursday, January 21 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Friday, January 22 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Explore RECOILweb:When you don't want to eat people - SoylentBooks of War: A Failed State by Andrew CoussensNew Color Polymer80 FramesMyTask tool stash- Case for iPhone NEXT STEP: Download Your Free Target Pack from RECOILFor years, RECOIL magazine has treated its readers to a full-size (sometimes full color!) shooting target tucked into each big issue.
