Learn More Arcteryx LEAF unveiled their new line of cold weather gear this year at SHOT. As with all their technical wear, it's designed for the worst rugged and freezing conditions one might encounter, whether in alpine environments or those cold desert landscapes where temperatures can dip down to truly frightening lows. The new cold weather systems of the Dead Bird Cold WX Line come in two packages. For extreme colder climates, LEAF has released the Cold WX SV line. The main piece in the WX SV line is a jacket that features Climashield Thermatek insulation and a Gore Windstopper shell. The WX SV pant features the same insulation and has neat features like thigh forward facing pockets for extra layers or other mission critical gear and full side zips for ventilation. Check out the video below for full features. The COLD WX SV (Severe Cold Weather) line includes jacket, pant, zip neck base layer, Bottom base layer, balacalva and glove. The Cold WX LT jacket is a light weight cold weather jacket that features Coreloft which effectively traps heat and compresses down tightly. Smart pocket layouts with the ability to run cables for comms and store personal pieces of gear like IFAKs and admin items. Depending on the mission you can pair this with the Alpha pant or the combat ready Drac pant. The 2016 Arcteryx LEAF line will be available in the coming months with some pieces available now. Check with your favorite LEAF retailer for more details and pricing. The phrase Winter is coming has become a part of popular culture – but actually, it's already here, and not just on the East Coast. The NSSF SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show) and Conference is an annual event held by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Typically attended by thousands of people from all 50 states and over a hundred countries, it is (quite rightfully) described as the “…world's premier exposition of combined firearms, ammunition, law enforcement, cutlery, outdoor apparel, optics, and related products and services. Imagine the Worlds' Fair, but packed with everything from mini-guns and every breed of body armor, bows and boots; from eye pro and ear pro to optics and ordnance, socks to swords…you get the idea. If you'd like to see a sampling of the companies who will be showing at this year's SHOT, there's a live map right here, though it doesn't reflect the organizations set up elsewhere, in hotel suites, etc. View imagery from our coverage of last year's SHOT Show right here. 2016 SHOT Show January 18 — Media on the Range (numerous shooting facilities in and around Las Vegas) January 19–22, 2016 Sands Expo and Convention Center Las Vegas, Nevada Hours: Tuesday, January 19 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 20 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Thursday, January 21 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Friday, January 22 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Explore RECOILweb:Christini AWD Fat BikeFour New Savage Arms Bolt Guns Now AvailableA Credible Website for Firearms Training, OnVirtus.comPropper decides to do boots, and they do it big NEXT STEP: Download Your Free Target Pack from RECOILFor years, RECOIL magazine has treated its readers to a full-size (sometimes full color!) shooting target tucked into each big issue.
