So, it’s no surprise that a veteran-owned coffee company would also branch out into cigars. This is exactly the path taken by First Responder Coffee Company, founded by retired Delta Force Operator Brent Tucker.Tucker joined after September 11, 2001, with the goal of completing a single enlistment to “do his part” before returning to his family’s business in Florida. Lo and behold, fate had other plans. Instead, he spent eight years as a Green Beret before being selected for the Army’s premier Special Mission Unit, where he spent the rest of his career. After leaving the military, Tucker began training domestic SWAT teams and law enforcement units. This is where he first got the idea for FRCC. In his own words: “I saw first-hand their lack of resources and wanted to start something that both supported them and gave back to them. Since we started the business in November 2022, we have raised over $20,000 for first responder causes.”From the beginning, his intent was always to branch into cigars. “I actually wanted to launch the cigars at the same time as the coffee back in November. We decided it was too much to try and do both right, so we decided on coffee first and always knew we were going to do cigars later. The cigars have come out of the gates like a racehorse …” Tucker has even gone so far as to create his own nonprofit, the CAT II foundation, named for his grandfather Cecil A. Tucker II. Additionally, they partner with other organizations like K9s United and Darkhorse Benefits to maximize their charity work for the first responder community. Whether you need a cup of joe to start your day or a smooth smoke to end it, stop by FRCC’s website and consider sipping or smoking for a cause.
