Founded in 2005 by the Army Marksmanship Unit(AMU), the Fort Benning 3 Gun Challenge match has proven to be a unique opportunity for shooters to interact with service personnel while competing in stages that incorporate military hardware and themes.  One of the missions of the AMU is to increase small arms lethality.  The AMU used the match as an opportunity to observe advances in small arms technology and techniques coming out of the competitive arena, thus furthering that part of the mission.  The last match was held in 2010.

To get an idea of what the match was like, check out RECOIL Contributor, Russell Phagan's (aka SinistralRifleman) video from the 2009 match.
