“You can save a lot of lives…but you're going to need to take a few along the way.”
Remember the brilliant first look at the “first person shooter” film Hardcore from Ilya Naishuller and Biting Elbows? Same action genius who did Bad Motherfucker? Well, there's more to see.
The movie was written and directed by Naishuller and executive produced by Timur Bakmambetov (Wanted). The film features, among others, actor Sharlto Copley (Chappie, Elysium, District 9, The A-Team) and Haley Bennett (The Equalizer).
Naishuller describes the story as a “minimalist approach” but there's nothing minimalistic about what we're seeing in the trailer.
Want to know more? Here's a series of short interviews. There's a lot of interesting backstory here, including an overview of the “movie rules” they break, lessons learned from the very first POV movie (which was filmed back in the '40s) and other things.
