Handmade in the USA by Metal Art of Wisconsin, the Carbon Fiber Freedom Cabinet Slider isn’t just an artistic expression of liberty but also an RFID lock-enabled safe that can store your guns, ammo, knives, booze, porn stash — whatever you don’t want getting soiled by any unauthorized paws. Using a keycard, you can slide the flag-covered door to the right, revealing an interior that’s stuffed with high-density foam that you can configure to hold your handguns, SBRs, or any other items that can fit inside its 21-by-12.5-inch interior. Metal Art of Wisconsin doesn’t just make safes; this family-owned business can also craft custom-made signs, monograms, and other artwork out of metal.

The Backripper Tomahawk is sharp, featherlight, and meant for everyday concealed carry. Yes, concealed carry. The 16-inch hickory handle is slim enough to slide inside your waistband while the short, compact head is secured safely by a two-piece Kydex sheath that loops through your belt using a shock cord. When worn correctly, this ’hawk isn’t noticeable to passersby at first glance. The whole setup weighs about a ½ pound. The Backripper is named as such because its hand-forged W1 tool steel head has a hooked blade in the rear — ideal for trapping and tearing techniques. While we wish there were a more user-friendly sheath system, the Backripper is an innovative edged weapon that warrants a closer look. And if nothing else, pulling it out of your pants makes for one cool party trick.

The AR-15 Armorer’s Master Kit can eliminate this problem — at least when it comes to building M4-style long-guns. From torque wrench and bench block to a pin punch set and front sight adjuster tool, this kit has pretty much everything you need to assemble or modify your AR-15. Plus, all the quality tools are housed and organized in a sturdy storage case — a great package no matter your experience level.

The result is a pair of pants that’s lightweight and durable, but still allows for mobility and functionality. It’s loaded with features, including nine useful pockets, internal sleeves for knee pads, and a Teflon finish to help repel stains and water. We’re all about gear with more than one use, whether it’s traditional multitools or devices that are a bit more unconventional. The Cestus LTT (Light Tactical Tool) is more the latter and caught our eye because it’s small yet has five functions in all: bottle opener, three wrenches, and of course the talon blade, which serves as a solid last-ditch self-defense weapon. Meant to be a tiny everyday-carry tool, the 4.09-inch LTT has room for only two fingers. Fortunately there are dual finger loops to ensure you won’t lose your grip. Plus, it’s made in Canada from ¼-inch-thick stock of D2 tool steel, so it’ll hold up to some serious abuse. Comes with custom Kydex sheath.

The tactical equivalent to running out of ink while writing would be being downrange without a fresh magazine. Fortunately with the Ti Click EDC Pen, you’re less likely to have reloading problems because it accepts more than 100 different refills without the need for any hacks, spacers, or modifications. How is this possible? This pen was designed from the inside out to have its length be adjusted simply by twisting its grip, allowing almost any ink refill to be inserted — and yet its tolerances are so pinpoint that there’s virtually no tip wiggle or fitment issues. The best part? It’s machined from solid titanium, so it’s lightweight, incredibly strong, and ideal as an improvised weapon.

Whether it’s Josey Wales, Will Munny, or Harry Callahan, Clint Eastwood has played some pretty iconic characters who are short on words, full of honor (or at least a certain type of honor), and exceptional with a firearm. That’s why Stand Strong Art honors the four-time Oscar winner with this high-quality PVC patch. The 2-by-3-inch morale patch comes in Multicam with a hook-and-loop backing, so there’s no need to worry about gluing or ironing it on. Slap this onto your range bag or jacket, because there’s nothing bad or ugly about this good patch.

Aimpoint intended the ACRO P-1 to be the spearpoint of the next generation of pistol optics, but ACRO’s on PCCs and carbines is inevitable. The overachievers at Reptilia somehow got their hands on one of the first P-1s to find its way to North America and R&Ded a Picatinny mount that’s launching before the tiny Swedish mailboxes are even on store shelves. We’ve had an ACRO P-1/DOT setup on a SIG MPX-K for a few weeks and it’s a compelling package. The pillar mount puts the optic in line for a lower third co-witness and its low profile, spring-loaded clamp is secured with a flush screw making the mount the last thing you’ll worry about getting hung up on your gear. And, man, is it light!

The HEST/F Urban is the new little brother in DPx’s HEST/F family of folders. The Urban’s blade is a little shorter and thinner than its next bigger sibling, the HEST/F 2.0, and the whole package is a little lighter … in all making for an exceptionally friendly EDC companion. The frame is the same thickness as the 2.0, making for a wonderfully positive grip, but DPx uses a rough grip phenolic epoxy resin that’s lighter than the original G10 scale formulation it uses in its other folders. The rest of the knife mixes top flight materials such as CPM 154 blade steel and grade 5 titanium for the frame, with useful everyday features such as a bottle opener notch, wire stripper jimping, and a ¼-inch hex drive socket.

There’s a lot to cover in Ops-Core’s new AMP headset, but the most notable aspect is its adaptability. In addition to cramming the AMP with excellent, active noise cancelling hearing protection and 3D hear-through technology, the headset features QD downlink cables for radios and intercom systems on both ears, mic sockets on both sides. And something we’ve not seen elsewhere, the AMP works with optional near field magnetic induction ear plugs that, when worn in addition to the muffs, provide double ear pro hearing protection while passing the 3D audio from the external mics and radios for excellent situational awareness. The system provides 7 levels of amplified hear-through and one comms-only setting. The AMP comes in a headband configuration and works with an optional, snap-on ARC rail-mount kit.

The Detection is Wiley X’s first totally rimless eye pro. Rimless means the shades maximize protective coverage without a compromising vision at the edges. It also means these things are light as heck, and every ounce of weight reduction on the face is worth 2 in the wood … or something like that. Less weight on the head, less fatigue in the neck. Aside from the lightness, the other headline feature (pun intended) is the lens array that allows the shades to be optimized for just about any environment by snapping the temples on each lens. Swapping lenses is further hastened by the inclusion of nose pieces on each lens so you don’t have to swap a single nose piece between all the lenses.

Tints: Clear, Copper, Orange, Purple, Yellow
