The show, to be called Charged Up, is going to be focused on the “growing trend toward incorporating technology into outdoor adventures”. To the “endemic consumer” it is aimed at bringing out the latest in electric bike and active outdoor technologies. Charged Up will be limited to 25 portable technology brands to be involved in the exclusive media event. To add more value to the event, on the afternoon of the final day sponsors will be able to invite key retailers to join the event. Sponsors include PeopleForBikes, the Outdoor Industry Association, and Bicycle Retailer & Industry News. These organizations will also be providing historical and trend data relating to the ebike and outdoor technology categories. The dates for Charged Up are May 14-15, 2014 at the Crystal Springs Resort; this setting was chosen for the suitability for private product discussions. Journalists invited will get the chance to understand the “advancements and functionality of ebikes, portable power, safety, and fitness gear along with innovations in wearable technology” and incorporate that information into their own media plugs.
