Gear SHOT16: Lethal Lace – Armed, Ladylike Discretion Jennifer Cunningham January 21, 2016 Join the Conversation Photos by Taylor Lange. Lethal Lace. It might sound like a Friday night feature on Cinemax or HBO but it's not — it's an interesting new take on concealed firearm carry and weapon retention. If you want to carry in situations where full or traditional gear just is neither possible nor practical, these unique holsters might be just what you’re looking for. Described as “…concealed carry holsters for ANY handgun, ANY location, ANY clothing [sic]…”, the holster is universal (i.e. not weapon specific). They come in black, teal, nude or pink and all (as you might surmise from the name) with lots of lace. No longer do you have to compromise style for functionality, or at least that's the hope. There’s also a male equivalent. Lethal Lace co-owners Mike and Tessa Renaud got the idea because they had a personal experience with a neighbor who faced a break-in while sleeping. It's sad to think someone should have to be concerned about carrying when asleep, but that's reality. These entrepreneurs are working on a PJ option though, so soon that might not be an issue either. Available in ankle, waist, calf, or bra style carry (see examples in video below), Renaud describes these holsters as “wicked strong.” They are stretchable, versatile and machine washable with a garment bag, but they do recommend hand washing and air dry as the better option. With this holster, you won’t have to be concerned about carrying when you want to dress up…or down, for that matter. “No longer do you have to dress around your gun,” says Renaud. Each holster has two suspender grips, with one at the end to stop your items from falling out. Four pockets keep your gun, ammunition source, concealed carry license, and whatever else you might want to keep close. They claim the gear won't lose its elasticity and will hold up when running, dancing and even when working out. As some point we'll see if that claim holds true. Take a minute to watch the video. We’re trying to start 2016 out right by showcasing worthy small American businesses all through the month of January. We encountered more than a few of these this year at SHOT2016. Capitalism is part of the foundation upon which our great republic stands, and small business is a vital part of that. Join us in recognizing and acknowledging that truth and supporting craftsmen and small businesses. Happy EntrepreNewYear! What is the NSSF SHOT Show? The NSSF SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show) and Conference is an annual event held by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Typically attended by thousands of people from all 50 states and over a hundred countries, it is (quite rightfully) described as the “…world's premier exposition of combined firearms, ammunition, law enforcement, cutlery, outdoor apparel, optics, and related products and services. Imagine the Worlds' Fair, but packed with everything from mini-guns and every breed of body armor, bows and boots; from eye pro and ear pro to optics and ordnance, socks to swords…you get the idea. Interestingly (perhaps fortuitously, for some) SHOT 2016 overlaps the 2016 AVN Awards, which would provide us with article fodder of an entirely different nature if we thought anyone there might have good trigger awareness and muzzle discipline… View imagery from our coverage of last year's SHOT Show right here. 2016 SHOT Show January 18 — Media on the Range (numerous shooting facilities in and around Las Vegas) January 19–22, 2016 Sands Expo and Convention Center Las Vegas, Nevada Hours: Tuesday, January 19 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 20 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Thursday, January 21 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Friday, January 22 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Explore RECOILweb:The Ashley Update: In Washington D.C. and New YorkTaming the Remington 870 with Vang Comp SystemsUnusual Suspects: Knives with Glass-BreakersNew: Gen 2 Delta Eagle Jacket NEXT STEP: Download Your Free Target Pack from RECOILFor years, RECOIL magazine has treated its readers to a full-size (sometimes full color!) shooting target tucked into each big issue.
