Gear Magpul Enters the Soft Goods Market Recoil Staff November 17, 2015 Join the Conversation At RECOIL, we review every product fairly and without bias. While right now they're mostly known for AR magazines and furniture (and a myriad of other mostly AR products), remember that they started with rubber pulls for magazines. And they'll always be known for producing the first watchable training DVDs, which forever after raised expectations from every other production company. Something they haven't really delved into is a serious venture in the soft goods market. Recently they announced two new products in this realm, and we anticipate hearing about more before SHOT Show early next year. First we heard about the Tejas Gun Belt. Perhaps inspired by their relatively recent move to Austin, from their wording we can only assume that more models are on the way. Here's what they have to say about it: “El Original” is the first belt in the Tejas Gun Belt line by Magpul. Crafted from a combination of inch-and-a-half wide top grade bullhide leather and reinforced polymer, it’s strong and water resistant, rigid enough to carry a holster, but still comfortable for everyday use. Proudly made in Texas, it’s not just a great gun belt… it’s a great belt. FEATURES Top grade bullhide leather exterior layer and supportive but flexible reinforced polymer interior Gun belt rigidity with dress belt comfort offers stretch and sag free performance Removable chrome plated buckle with branded “tool-free” fasteners Standard 1-1/2″ wide and 1/4″ thick to fit most belt loops and holsters Eight holes with 3/4″ spacing for a wide yet precise adjustment range Multiple lengths available from 32-44 inches Gloves are something that people can get very particular about indeed. Magpul threw their hat into the ring with a new take on an old favorite: Flight Gloves. Here's what they have to say about them: Built on the tradition of the first Nomex® flight gloves worn by military aviators since the 1960’s, the new Magpul Flight Gloves use modern materials, fit and finish to provide comfort, fire resistance and protection. Fitting like a second skin, these touchscreen capable gloves are at home inside the cockpit or out for all high dexterity tasks. Magpul Gloves. The evolution of the human-mechanical interface. FEATURES Durable and soft one-piece leather palm and finger construction for enhanced feel and control of firearms Back constructed with flame and heat-resistant Nomex® Narrow, minimalistic forefinger for easy access and better control of firearms triggers Gauntlet coverage extends past the wrist Three-finger touchscreen capability Excellent flexibility and dexterity Subdued branding for better camouflage and concealment Right now we're taking bets as to what comes out next. In the meantime, you can visit Magpul online here, or give them a follow on Facebook or Instagram.
