Learn More Written by Jacki Billings Per the usual trend, Magpul is slowly leaking news of new products to consumers ahead of SHOT Show, kicking off the pre-SHOT coverage with the Magpul Pro 700 Rifle Chassis. The name pretty much gives it away — the Magpul Pro 700 Rifle Chassis is a precision rifle chassis designed to pair with short action Remington 700 actions and other Remington 700 footprint actions. Utilizing an aluminum skeleton and dressed in Magpul’s finest polymer, the Pro 700 is packed with aesthetics to draw in precision and Magpul fans. To start, the rifle chassis is fully ambidextrous, accommodating both righties and lefties with swappable QD sling swivel plate and bolt retainer insert for left or right actions. The process for changing everything over requires just a 1/8-inch hex wrench and a little elbow grease. Continuing with its adjustable theme, the Pro 700 also features comb height and cheek riser modifications. Comb height is user adjustable with a 1-inch range. Magpul also throws in a secondary knob designed to kill any movement in the riser. The cheek riser, itself, is three-position fore/aft adjustable at +.375-inches, 0-inches, and -.375-inches. Southpaws also benefit from the swappable cheek riser which can be switched for left side use with that handy hex wrench. The stock itself is a foldable design with a push-button activated steel hinge with Melonite finish. It is also configurable for left-handed or right-handed folding. Moving up the chassis, an integrated AICS pattern mag well pairs with both basic AICS pattern short action mags as well as Magpul’s own designs including the PMAG5 and PMAG19 7.62 AC magazines. Magpul certainly understands its tactical consumer base and as such equips the chassis with an oversized trigger guard area for gloved shooting. The area also accepts most factory and aftermarket trigger — flat or curved, whichever your poison. Magpul finishes up features on the forend, slapping down some M-LOK slots for accessory mounting. Magpul says the Pro 700 rifle chassis has been in the works for awhile and the accessory company is pleased to finally bring the finished product to life. “At the very start of our bolt action program – and even from the earliest days of Magpul precision rifle training – we knew that the ultimate goal was to build the best possible ‘no limits’ rifle chassis in the world,” Magpul said in a statement. “After years of design, prototyping and testing, and guided by Magpul Core and other accomplished shooters from military, law enforcement, and competitive backgrounds, it’s time to show our hand.” Available in Black, FDE, and Olive Drab Green the Pro 700 Rifle Chassis is coming soon with an MSRP of $999.
