Maxim Defense has a pretty legit lineup of awesome AR-15 parts that are worth checking out. The Tanto's Toolbox .300 Blackout AR pistol stuffed into a small Snap-On toolbox that Maxim has displayed front and center at NRAAM 2018 is catching the attention of a lot of passers-by, and for good reason.
First off, it is probably ideal that we clarify that the Tanto they're referring to is none other than the ex-CIA contractor and Benghazi survivor Kris “Tanto” Paronto of Battleline Tactical.
Let's face it, how often do we run across a complete firearm that deposits some wonder back into the extremely saturated AR marketplace?
Crack open the toolbox and you find a PMAG, two MLOK rail sections, a gun lock, and an AR armorer's wrench in the tray normally dedicated to smaller hand tools.
Pull the tray out and you find a complete DRD Tactical AR15 lower receiver with a FAB Defense folding pistol grip and a Maxim Defense PDW Brace mated to a DRD Tactical AR15 upper.
Once you drop the pistol grip into position and yank the stock open, it is just a matter of grabbing the barrel and handguard from the bottom of the toolbox and fitting it to the rest of the rifle.
It's kind of crazy they're able to jam that entire AR pistol into the toolbox and still have enough room for an armorers tool, mag, and other things in the hand tool tray.
• Features DRD Tactical billet upper and lower receiver
• Includes Maxim Defense CQB Pistol: PDW Brace for AR15
• 8.5” Barrel 300BLK
• Available in Black or Battle Worn finish
• Fits inside a small toolbox
• Benefits the 14th Hour Foundation
MSRP on Tanto's Toolbox is $2465 as shown with the battleworn finish applied.
Once the Tanto's Toolbox pistol has show attendees roped in, it isn't hard to find a ton of other great products on display in the Maxim Defense booth. It is almost like Maxim has set up that super rad AR pistol as some sort of tactical siren.
Maxim has become reasonably well known for their PDW style stocks, but the universal 9mm bolts caught our attention.
What do we mean universal? These things work with Glock, Colt, Beretta, S&W, Walther, and HK MP5 magazines.
MSRP for the bolt starts at $195.95 and goes up to $224.95 if you opt for the nickel boron finish.
Check out the Maxim Defense website for more information on both products as well as the rest of their product lineup. Tanto's Toolbox and the universal 9mm bolts are on display at the Maxim Defense booth at the NRA Annual Meeting, booth #2711.
