This stabby money clip was introduced at Blade Show East and received rave reviews. But it wasn't until Blade Show West that we finally got the chance to check it out. Once you have the Microtech Exocet in your hand and push that OTF (out the front) button and the 1.98-inch blade comes out, you know you have something special.
Weighing in at a minuscule 3 ounces, this lightweight beauty virtually disappears in your pocket, as a good money clip should. The double-edged CTS 204 P blade is razor-sharp. And, this bad boy is legal in California because it's less than 2 inches (make sure you check with your local state and law enforcement regulations).
While holding the Exocet, one begins to think of all the applications that knife would be useful for, from practical to tactical. People have carried pocketknives for centuries; people have also carried money for just as long. There have been some pretty horrible attempts at a pocket knife/money clip made. You usually see them at the gas station or your local bodega for $9.99. The Exocet executes everything perfectly.
Holding and using it in day-to-day activities, you would never be able to tell there is an OFT knife stashed in your money clip. The OFT button is inconspicuous, and once surrounded by cash or cards is almost disappears. There have been rumors that this little tool has made it through the TSA checkpoints at some airports… but we wouldn't try it.
This was a departure for the conventional knife that Microtech makes. It took some out-of-the-box thinking to come up with a functional OTF/money clip that holds up to the strict Microtech standards. Microtech has done a great job keeping with the quality and durability its consumers have grown to trust and love. Overall as an EDC accessory, you can’t go wrong picking up the Exocet as your new way to carry cards and cash.
