Says NTYDTTRD Inc., the founding organization, “Our inaugural event was held Jun 9, 2012, with 37 ranges in 15 states participating. It took thousands of volunteers, sponsors and supporters but it was worth it to see the smiles on the faces of the kids and the parents. We started with a focus on Daughters and an opportunity for Dad’s to take their girls to the range and quickly evolved into Sons and Moms, too! The name hasn’t changed, but we encourage the whole family to shoot together. It is a great opportunity to teach the kids safe handling skills, expose them to shooting sports which they may enjoy for the rest of their lives, and do something together!” Their intention is to hold the annual event the 3RD Saturday in June from now on.
