XTech Tactical released two new magazines at Triggrcon 2018. Here they are, hot off the production line.
The first should look rather familiar to those who remember US Palm AK30 magazines. However, unlike the now-defunct US Palm mags, the 30-round XTech MAG47 can be disassembled — the baseplate comes off easily for cleaning and maintenance. XTech says it's the strongest polymer magazine on the market. They feature stainless steel reinforcement on the feed lips and locking lugs. The spring is also stainless steel. Xtech also said the MAG47 will fit most AK47s, with fitment problems that might arise on the off chance there's a clearance issue with the side ribs.
MAG47 magazines should begin shipping as we speak, with an MSRP of $28.95.
The second magazine is for the AR15 platform. But there are numerous excellent AR magazines already available — what makes the new XTech X-MAG different? It's essentially a magazine with a built-in speed loader. It has a collar around the body of the magazine which is attached to the follower, allowing you to easily pull the follower down to load rounds into the magazine. In order to provide this convenient functionality, the 30-round X-MAG is necessarily longer than a regular 30-round AR magazine, plus there are open slots on the sides of the magazine body. So keep this in mind for your particular use cases.
The new X-MAG is also available now, with an MSRP of $29.95.
If you're in the Seattle area, TriggrCon is open to the public this weekend, 28-29 July 2018. It's free, with a premium package also available. Check out the TriggrCon site for more information.
