Black Collar Arms has been making waves with their Remington 700 chassis named The Pork Sword, but now they/ve doubled down with the clever names and showcased the Black Collar Arms SBD integrally suppressed pre-fit barrel.
The SBD integrally suppressed barrel is being offered in rifle length barrels for 223 Remington, 300 Blackout, 308 Winchester, 350 Legend, and 375 Raptor. If a pistol barrel is what you are after, Black Collar only offers them in 300 Blackout at press time.
Rifle barrels measure out to just over 16 inches with 10 to 12 inches of that being a rifle barrel and another 5 to 6 inches of that being suppressor. The suppressor does have a rather large expansion chamber built over the barrel for maximum sound suppression.
We were told the barrels Black Collar uses are produced by X-Caliber, a newer barrel company with a short, yet impressive track record.
The Black Collar Arms SBD will be offered as a barrel only, barreled action, and even in complete firearm form.
We did get a chance to handle the Pork Sword chassis from Black Collar as well.
We also got our mitts on Black Collar's MLOK compatible handguard. While it is still a prototype in desperate need of some more contouring to remove the sharp edges, the design is promising. The company says the handguard not only has enough clearance for standard barrels like the carbon fiber one fitted to the display pistol, but the SBD integrally suppressed barrel will also fit.
Black Collar says that the handguard is still being fine-tuned but should be ready for production in the very near future.
Black Collar Arms hasn't priced the SBD yet, but they're taking a $1 deposit from those that want to snatch up one of the first ones. The expected ship date for the SBD is sometime in the second quarter of 2020, Pork Sword chassis are currently shipping and available on the Black Collar website.
