Gear New FrogLube Extreme Hops Onto The Arctic Scene Steven Kuo September 25, 2015 Join the Conversation Everyone's favorite mint-scented lubricant will now be available in a new Extreme version. FrogLube Extreme performs across an extremely wide temperature range, from 44 degrees below zero to 125 degrees F and beyond. FrogLube explained the back story behind FrogLube Extreme to us: Several years ago, FrogLube began working with a U.S. government agency that was interested in bio-based lubricants. The subsequent product development and testing resulted in a formulation designed to compete for the government's environmental spec — in particular, cold weather performance. Testing revealed it was pourable down to minus 44 degrees, but also handled the opposite temperature extremes. Hence the moniker, FrogLube Extreme, which they've now brought to the commercial market. The new lube is non-toxic and non-flammable. It has food grade ingredients and a non-petroleum base. FrogLube says it works great in firearms with tight actions and micronizes fouling to a sort of powdered form. If you're at the NRA World Shooting Championships right now (24-26 September), you can get a sneak peek at the new lube. FrogLube Extreme will be making its way out to retailers soon, and retail price will be $14.99 for a 1.5 ounce squeeze tube.
