New Long Range Shooting Club for the Southwest

Cowtown range should be familiar to regular readers – it is after all the place where many of the cool toys and guns get tested before gracing the pages of RECOIL. We often make use of their long range facilities as finding a range where you can ring steel at up to mile is difficult at best. Finding somewhere that will let you sling 50BMG projectiles is next to impossible, barring a long drive out to a patch of raw desert (or maybe an abandoned shopping mall in Detroit).

Did I mention Cowtown embraces full auto?

Readers within a few hours drive of Phoenix might want to give the Cowtown Range's new venture a once-over. Launching on October 4th, the new Cowtown Long Range Club costs a scant 200 bucks for the first year and $100 after that, giving you access to three steel target arrays from 100 to 1600 yards (yes, that's sixteen hundred). Members pay $30 per visit for a full day's worth of shooting, so you can work on your wind calls in the twisting arroyos in a variety of conditions.

Look at this cheerful, handsome fellow. See how happy he is about the new Long Range Club?

There's going to be an opening day shindig this Saturday with vendors and displays and of course lots of ballistic celebration. You should take a look.
