SHOT Show 2019

New Models from ColonelBlades

ColonelBlades hit the ground running a few years ago with the introduction of the Colonel LowVz, a blade designed by combatives instructors Al Salvitti and his son Nico. Dubbed the blade made for shooters, this unique pistol-grip knife was designed to capitalize on a trained shooter’s ingrained physical responses.

The large-handled NCO Fullbird followed as part of an NCO economy line of ColonelBlades, which also included an NCO version of the LowVz. An injection molded stubby trainer that fit inside the LowVz and a full bird sheath was also introduced around the same time.

Keeping up with their current evolutionary tempo, ColonelBlades has released some new renditions that fans of the design are sure to love.

The new NCO NoVz is another addition to the economy line, which uses AUS8 steel with a Titanium Nitride finish, as opposed to the N690Co steel and Isonite QPQ of the Colonel LowVz. The NoVz features a smaller handle (1-inch smaller than the LowVz) and compact sheath for deep concealment.

For those who may find themselves working in non-permissive environments, a non-metallic G10 NoVz has also been added to the ColonelBlades lineup. This knife features a cord-wrapped handle and a minimalist, non-riveted Kydex neck sheath.

The most unique addition to the lineup is the Colonel Folder. The folder is made by Fox Knives, like the original LowVz, using N690Co. This knife comes equipped with G10 grips, ambidextrous pocket clip, and a push-button locking mechanism with a secondary lock to prevent accidental closure. The blade is coated with a TOPSHIELD military grade, anti-wear coating. A satin-finish version is also available without the TOPSHIELD coating. Coming in 2019, the Colonel Folder will have several handle color options to choose from.

Finally, ColonelBlades has partnered with other companies to provide a customized experience. TXC Holsters and Matthew’s Fabrication both offer authorized aftermarket sheaths to Colonel fixed blade designs. For a truly personalized finish, ColonelBlades has teamed up with MAD Custom Coatings to offer some sick Cerakote work on their Blades.
