Learn More The white-coat-clad mad scientists at Battlearms Development have been hard at work as usual. As a result, they have returned to SHOT Show 2019 with a truckload of new firearms and accessories. The rifle that started the lightweight AR revolution, the Battlearms OIP Ultralight Rifle (dubbed the Ounces is Pounds rifle) has returned with some serious upgrades as the OIP Gen 2. Weighing in at a mere 3.8lbs sans optics and magazine, the term Ultralight might be an understatement with this rifle. Battlearms OIP Gen 2 The 5.56 NATO OIP Gen 2 features a 14.5-inch barrel with a 1:7 twist and a pin-welded Thumper Compensator, to put the total legal barrel length at 16 inches. A carbon fiber pistol grip and free float, M-LOK-compatible hand guard help keep this weapon air light. The bolt catch, gas block, muzzle brake, bolt carrier, grip screw, stock screw, and pivot and takedown pins are all constructed out of titanium. The Gen 2 uses a fixed, mid-length aluminum stock with a patented OIP buffer system and Battlearms’ new RACK rocking charging handle. The sleek-looking skeletonized lower also features an ambidextrous safety. Expect this gun to be in the neighborhood of $3,200. Also new from Battlearms is the BAD-GS Billet Dedicated Glock 9mm AR Lower Receiver. This lower accepts Glock 9mm magazines, however, the blowback design used with this lower prevents the bolt from locking open on the last round. If that doesn’t scare you off, you can preorder the BAD-GS for $289.00. Battlearms BAD-GS Also appearing from Battlearms is the new ONE:1 Glock 19 Barrel. The straight fluted ONE:1 is made using a revolutionary machining process where one machine is used to machine every part of the barrel from beginning to end. The ultra-precise, single-point cut rifling is done with almost 100 micro cuts, which prevents the introduction of stress to the barrel and thereby negating the need for stress relieving after rifling. The barrel is compatible with Glock Gens 1-5, including the 19X, and is rated for +P ammunition. A threaded version comes with a SABERTUBE Dimpled Pattern Thread Protector with an O-ring. This beauty will set you back $199.95 for the Black Nitride, or $229.95 for the stainless steel version.
