Noveske Rifleworks Infidels are being assembled now

Noveske Rifleworks advises me that today they started assembling the new Infidel Rifle. The new rifles will hopefully start shipping to dealers by the end of this week (maybe the beginning of next week), as well as to those people who had their orders in early enough.  This newer generation of Infidels is based on the earlier, previously discontinued (Gen 2) model that came with the permanently attached KX-3 flash suppressor and monolithic rail (its 13.7″ barrel was exactly 16.1″ with the KX-3). These, however, are built from the Gen 3 rifles and come with the newer, slimmed down KX-5, which recesses under the handguard so only a minimal portion protrudes from the end. Otherwise both earlier and later models are much the same. The earlier Infidels, first built years ago, were discontinued when Noveske had to shorten the catalog to keep up with demand – but people immediately began begging them to bring them back. Now they have.

The Noveske Gen 2 platforms featured a forged, flared lower; the Gen 3 uses a billet line, which allows them to better control aesthetic appearance and specs.

“Forging leads to imperfections that are unacceptable to the exacting demands of Noveske customers,” advises Noveske General Manager Sheri Johnson. “The new billet line addresses that, and the fact that all of it is made in the house makes it easy to control quality.”

Note that they will not be taking direct orders for rifle sales because for all their success, Noveske is still a smaller company. They prefer to build lower numbers of high quality rifles than to produce en masse.
