EDC Pack and other Goodness from Blue Force Gear – SHOT 2015

Blue Force Gear has been working for some time now at bringing a pack of their own to market. You would think that for a company that mostly sews products out of nylon, that should be a relatively easy task. You would also be wrong. It's apparently not so easy to do if you intend on doing it the right way. Since all Blue Force Gear is made in the United States, and many of their products get used by  the LE/MIL community they were not willing to build their own backpack until they could do it to the same high standard the rest of their line has become known for (in particular their slings and their unique, ultra lightweight webbing material).

BFG's goal was to produce a bag that could be used daily for a number of tasks and possess the look and functionality of a EDC concealment bag. To that end it features two main compartments and is lined with loop material. The loop material is there for the attachment of their hook-backed Dapper pouches (which several of us have been using since the prototypes first came out years ago), tourniquet rigs, holsters, etc. It also appears that BFG intends to bring the Dapper product line up back up in full force, with a new suite of see-through zippered compartments and elastic organizers that will complement this and other bags. Its pretty sharp looking, and will be offered in the popular wolf grey color that is so in vogue right now. We're not sure at this point what if any other colors will be available.

The packs should be available by the spring, and will be available for under $120.00.

Moving beyond the pack, there are a number of other new pieces of kit coming. This Year BFG is releasing a new trouser belt for daily wear. Foregoing the usual cobra buckle and rigid stiffeners, the simple strap setup belt is soft and comfortable for wear in jeans or cargo short. It is (happily) pretty low key in tan and black. Two steel rings serves as the means of cinching down the belt. These should be available shortly as well, and sell around the $40.00 mark.

Lastly Blue Force Gear is launching a new belt mounted line of Ten-Speed pouches. The Ten-Speed system uses tough, light, and minimal materials into the designs allowing for a very low profile. The new line up will include the Wolf Grey color as well, and offers an adjustable system of belt attachment. The line will include single and double pistol magazine pouches, rifle mag pouches and pouches for other pieces of support gear. For those that like to run light for concealed carry, undercover police work, 3-gun matches or dry-fire practice, this might be a good, simple option.
