In an effort to get more affordable armor into the hands of law enforcement and other first responders, Propper is now including a set of Level IV rifle-rated plated with their Responder kits.
Here's what they have to say about it.
St. Charles, MO – Propper announces a significant upgrade to their Responder Kit by including NIJ Level IV ballistic plates (front and back) to the lightweight one-size-fits-all carrier. This is a great, low cost option to allow quick access to Level IV armor when the situation demands it.
Level IV body armor provides the highest level of protection currently available and is intended to protect against .30–06 caliber armor-piercing bullets. The ballistic plates feature a 10×12 inch single curve vest insert and are manufactured from high-density alumina ceramic core backed with layered composite fiber and finished in a paint coating.
Features include:
The Propper Responder kit is available in Black, Multicam, Coyote, and Ranger Green.

More About Propper as they tell it:
Life is about taking action, making the right moves, and never letting anything get in the way. Propper knows that. That’s why we’ve dedicated ourselves to making gear that keeps you moving, wherever the action is — whether you’re in the service, on the job or off for the weekend.
Propper was founded in 1967 by William T. Propper, an entrepreneur with a passion for manufacturing. With hard work and a dedicated staff, Propper eventually landed its first government contract with the U.S. Navy, manufacturing caps known as “Dixie cups.” As the years marched on, we grew our business – and our reputation for quality.
Today, Propper continues to design and manufacture gear for tactical, law enforcement, public safety and military professionals that works right, right when it’s supposed to.
We don’t just make the best gear out there. We make it right – right to the core.
