Learn More Stafford, Texas based Radical Firearms is largely known for their value based line of AR rifles, pistols, and accessories. However, at SHOT Show this year they presented a new line of suppressors. Lacking fancy names, texturing, or specialty muzzle devices, the Radical Firearms suppressors are by all appearances purely utilitarian items. They are currently offering models in 5.56, 7.62N, and .22lr. In order to display the monocore baffle goodies inside, Radical made a complete set with large cutout windows. The centerfire rifle cans are sealed, while the .22lr can be disassembled to ease the removal of the inevitable lead fouling. Currently, all removable suppressors by Radical Firearms are direct-thread items to maximize value and weapon compatibility. They're machined from 304 stainless steel, so they aren't the lightest in the world, and then they're finished with Cerakote. We're also advised that these first suppressors from Radical Firearms are not machine gun rated. The 7.62N suppressor is also suitable for 7.62×39 and .300blk. Something else they had to show was an integrally suppressed Ruger 10/22 barrel. This 4140 monocore barrel is wrapped in a T6 shroud to give it a similar diameter of a heavy target barrel at .925″. There are two different threaded gas bleeds so you can change the pressure of the ammunition to ensure subsonic speeds if desired. The overall length is 16″, with half of that space being rifled barrel and the other half being a monocore. The shroud can be removed both for cleaning and also for adjustment of the gas bleed ports. The specifications list a 1:10 twist rate as opposed to the standard Ruger 10/22 1:16 twist rate, so it should be well suited for heavier subsonic ammunition. Currently these are only available directly from Radical Firearms. You can visit them online here. The NSSF SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show) and Conference is an annual event held by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Typically attended by thousands of people from all 50 states and over a hundred countries, it is (quite rightfully) described as the “…world's premier exposition of combined firearms, ammunition, law enforcement, cutlery, outdoor apparel, optics, and related products and services. Imagine the Worlds' Fair, but packed with everything from mini-guns and every breed of body armor, bows and boots; from eye pro and ear pro to optics and ordnance, socks to swords…you get the idea. If you'd like to see a sampling of the companies who will be showing at this year's SHOT, there's a live map right here, though it doesn't reflect the organizations set up elsewhere, in hotel suites, etc. View imagery from our coverage of last year's SHOT Show right here. 2016 SHOT Show January 18 — Media on the Range (numerous shooting facilities in and around Las Vegas) January 19–22, 2016 Sands Expo and Convention Center Las Vegas, Nevada Hours: Tuesday, January 19 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 20 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Thursday, January 21 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Friday, January 22 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Explore RECOILweb:Bloody Important - Less is MoreSOCOM On The Hunt For New Advanced Sniper RifleKnight's Armament XM-9, Snap-On SilencerMOE Guns - some morale patch goodness NEXT STEP: Download Your Free Target Pack from RECOILFor years, RECOIL magazine has treated its readers to a full-size (sometimes full color!) shooting target tucked into each big issue.
