Learn More Written by Jacki Billings In keeping with their canine theme, Rosco Manufacturing launched a new set of .300 BLK and .223 Wylde barrels affectionately called the PureBred series. Manufactured from 416R stainless steel, PureBred blanks are rifled through the company’s “Rifling and Polishing Method” to offer a lapped, smooth finish before pairing with polished Nickel Boron extensions. The PureBred barrels provide a swath of barrel lengths tailored to specific shooting purposes. The Blackout barrels come in 8.2-inch, 10.5-inch, and 16-inch options. Both the 8.5-inch and 10.5-inch are obviously set up for short barreled rifle platforms with the 10.5-inch model boasting suppressor and DBAL compatibility. The 10.5 model’s long rail permits laser aiming devices, such as the DBAL, to ride comfortably on the carbine platform, according to the company. The 16-inch variant is set up to tackle carbine platforms or hunting expeditions with its heavier design. Wylde Barrels come in four total configurations — 14.5-inches, 16-inches, 18-inches, and 20-inches. The 14-inch, 16-inch, and 18-inch are designed for DMR/SPR builds while the 20-inch version provides a medium weight barrel for precision carbines. Rosco Manufacturing says PureBred consumers can expect 1MOA results out of the box. “With the success of our Bloodline barrels we felt that it was time to start raising the bar in other categories of the shooting world as well,” Rosco’s Marketing and Sales Director Gabriel Cabrera said in a statement. “Our Purebred barrels will be an example of what can be accomplished when you take your time and manufacture a product using the right information coupled with keeping all aspects of production in house.” Cabrera added, “We hope to put an end to the popular trend of farming out a product to then just slap a name on the side.” Though currently offered in just .300 BLK and .223 Wylde, Rosco says it intends to bring more caliber options to life at a later time (6.5 Creedmoor, 6mm Creedmoor, .224 Valkyrie, .260 Remington, .308 Win, and .243 Win to name a few). .300 BLK prices start at $180 topping off at $220 while the .223 Wylde barrels begin at $175, ending at $230.
