SHOT Show 2018 Seekins Precision Releases New Products for 2018 Industry News January 30, 2018 Join the Conversation By Jacki Billings Seekins Precision puts the sleek in precision with a bevy of new products designed to showcase why the company is at the top of the premium precision game. Seekins kicked off the booth tour with a new magazine system designed for quick mag changes. The mag setup has a bevel on the bottom which Seekins Precision told us is similar to what shooters would find on a competition or 2011 style pistol. Adding to the mag setup, the company also introduced a carbon fiber magazine, adding a sleeker look to mag changes. The Professional Composites series is getting a boost with a new stock — the ProComp CH2. The carbon fiber stock offers that head-turning, elegant look while also providing a lighter weight to the build. The core of the stock uses a proprietary ISO-fiber that “isolates harmonics and vibration” and thus reduces recoil. Seekins says the stock will be sold on its own in addition to appearing on upcoming rifles in various calibers. The stock itself retails for $625. The Havak Pro Hunter 2 officially made its debut at SHOT. The PH 2 is a higher end hunting rifle with different coatings to give the long gun a more premium look and feel. The one we previewed happened to showcase the company’s Ghost Camo pattern and we have to admit, we were quite the fan of the coating. It was understated but definitely eye-catching. Seekins keeps with the carbon fiber theme, outfitting the Pro Hunter 2 with a carbon fiber stock and magazine. The carbon fiber construction helps keep that weight down with Seekins telling us the Pro Hunter 2 weighs right around 7-pounds. The rifle tops off the build with a Timney Calvin Elite Trigger and an MSRP of $4,500. Moving to the gas gun equipment, Seekins showed us a new stock, the ProComp 10x due out later this Spring. The precision stock designed for AR platforms and features an adjustable cheek rest and adjustable length of pull using a spacer system. The stock comes with two spacers in addition to three anti-rotation QD sling points. Intended for precisions or varmint style shooting, the ProComp 10X is priced at $195. The Select Adjustable Gas Block also enters the gas gun accessory lineup with a “near infinite” initial adjustment. Modifications can be made with just an allen wrench by turning the gas screw in to reduce gas or turning out to increase gas. The gas block is available in .750 and .875 diameter for $119. In full-size options, Seekins delivers the NXP8. Available for pre-order and shipping in February, the NPX8 was originally created for the government as a PDW; however, Seekins ported the design over to the civilian market for those looking for a concealable firearm. The NXP8 flaunts a match grade 416-5R precision barrel chambered in 300 BLK, M-LOK handguard, adjustable pistol length gas system and ambi controls. MSRP is $1,879. Finishing out the booth tour, Seekins told us that over the last couple of years the company has been “secretly dabbling” in military and law enforcement builds. The result is a new rifle designed specifically for the military and LE community that has been fine-tuned to those specific needs. The rifle comes with the company’s new Select Adjustable Gas Block already equipped and ready to go. The set-up is completely configurable on a per-contract basis, spec’d out by the agency ordering it. Though it’s not civilian compatible, it was a neat addition to Seekins’ booth and a testament to the kind of quality the company is achieving.
