Two of this issue’s submissions are just that — ink that represents a fondness for firearms seen on the big screen. We’re sure that De Niro’s Travis Bickle and Clint Eastwood’s “Blondie” would be happy to see their pistols of choice emblazoned in the flesh. Colt 1851 Artist: Rob Rutherford Black Pearl Tattoo Clayton, NC Wendy Womack: Like many of us, I grew up watching Clint Eastwood movies with my dad and grandpa. I decided to add Eastwood’s rattlesnake revolver from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. My revolver tattoo has definitely turned some heads being that you don’t see many women with a large gun tattoo. This tattoo is probably one of my favorites. Derringer Artist: Jim Sylvia Unbreakable Tattoo Studio City, CA Chuck Bradford: I always wanted a Derringer pistol on my forearm ever since I saw old Westerns and movies like Taxi Driver. I got this tattoo, which I call “The old trick up the sleeve,” for a couple reasons. Mainly, as a slam against the gun laws here in California. We are no longer allowed any type of carry in Los Angeles. So, besides it just being a cool and original piece, it’s a bit of an FU. Got a gun tattoo you’d like to share? Please send some well-lit, high resolution photos to [email protected], along with your name, the tattoo artist’s name, the studio name and city in which it was done, and 50-70 words on what the tattoo is of and why you got it.
