Learn More Doesn't it melt your heart to see the industry give back to the men who use their gear daily? Arc'teryx LEAF and the Special Operations Care Fund teamed up to melt our hearts and try to freeze the, uhm, bums off of a group of Special Operations veterans with the outdoor company's signature Ice Climbing Experience in Bozeman, Montana. The event, hosted by Station Foundation in late February 2020, saw a group of America's finest climb frozen cliffs. Most had never climbed mountains, much less ice-covered mountains. Some of these men made the climb wearing prosthetics. It truly is a sight to behold and humbling to see men broken by war tackle a mountain. “For over 15 years, we have been making apparel and gear for the most demanding military and law enforcement end-users on the planet. It was time for us to find a way to give back”, said Stephen Church, Arc'teryx's LEAF Business Unit Director. “We were inspired by the exceptional work done by SOC-F who has been a driving force in getting help to families in need. We reached out and asked them what we could do together.” First of Many SOC-F/Arc’teryx LEAF Ice Climbing Experience is the first of many planned events for veterans. Arc'teryx LEAF is also teaming up with other veteran support organizations to host events. These events won't all involve freezing ice walls. Arc'teryx LEAF plans to take around the world and to veterans who can benefit the most from the outdoors. SOC-F was created in 2013 to support SOF veterans and families. SOC-F raises money to provide SOF veterans and families medical, financial, and other support. You can check them out here.
