Alan Tudyk (Firefly's Hoban “Wash” Washburne) plays actor Wray Nerely, star of a canceled cult science fiction series whose failing career (consisting mostly of appearances at sci-fi conventions) is eclipsed by a former co-star (Nathan Fillion, Firefly's Captain Malcom Reynolds).
