Tac-Con Releases AK trigger, selectable AR trigger

Tac-Con was subject to a lot of talk and controversy last year when they released the $495 (now $395) 3MR AR-15 trigger which can simulate the effect of select-fire. No, it doesn't work like those terrible Hellfire triggers that were shilled at gun shows in the 1980s and 90s. Instead, when the 3MR is put into the third selector position (traditionally the, ‘Auto' position in an M16) it has an assisted reset, which means that the hammer helps to reset the trigger and theoretically achieve a faster semi-auto rate of fire. Does it work? Like with any item of this type, reviews span the entire spectrum and vary widely so we suggest you give them a Google (or borrow one from someone who has already purchased it and take it to the range).

Now they've announced that they're doing the same for the second most popular rifles in America: The AK. They're calling it the AK-47 Raptor Trigger.

Here's what they have to say about it:

The Tac-Con Raptor Trigger System is a fire control system

Tac-Con Raptor
consisting of “Safe” and Tac-Con's proprietary semi-auto, assisted-reset, fire position. This position provides a positive reset that dramatically reduces the split times between shots. The positive reset characteristic is achieved by transferring the force from the bolt carrier through the trigger assembly, instantaneously assisting the trigger back onto the sear. As a result, this gives the firearm the fastest reset possible for an AK-47! The “Raptor” features a non-adjustable 4.5-pound trigger pull weight with zero take-up and no overtravel.

Something else they are doing is the Tac-Con 241, which is a precision variant of the 3MR Trigger

Tac-Con has combined its blazing-fast 3MR assisted-reset technology with a precision two-stage trigger, providing you the ultimate all in one, simple, drop-in replacement system.

Now shooters can quickly transition from rapid fire to ultra-precise long range shot placement with the simple switch of the 3-mode selector. The 241 trigger system utilizes the standard “Fire” position for its 4.5lb assisted-reset mode, while the 180 degree, “full auto,” position activates the two-stage mode. The two-stage mode features a controllable 3.5lb take up with a clean, crisp 1lb break for the ultimate in precision shot placement.

The Tac-Con AK Raptor Trigger has an MSRP of $349 and can be purchased here
The 241 trigger has a suggested retail of $395.00 and will be available from Tac-Con in December 2015.
