One of the biggest problems for police and military in urban areas (and college boys in movies about sorority girls) is doors.  Defeating a door through picks, rams and explosives is the easy part; it's what lies behind that door that usually poses a problem.  There could be hostages, armed assailants, meth labs or traps.  Any one of these could obviously pose a problem to the guy or gal entering the room. To address this issue, Tactical Electronics has come up with three variations of their Under Door Camera to glean better intel.  Check out below to read a bit more information of the various models.

Tactical Electronics Under Door Camera

The Under Door Camera System is a wireless camera designed to provide operators with covert video inspection of rooms behind closed doors. A light sensitive black and white camera, an IR LED illuminator, and 4 IR LEDs provide wireless vision to any dark area. An optional telescoping deployment pole enables operators to quickly deploy and maneuver the unit from a position of cover. The UDC also features an internal DVR that records real-time video directly to an SD card for post operation review and archiving.

Under Door Camera PRO

The Under Door Camera Pro is a 2-camera system that provides dual camera views. The unit is equipped with forward and upward facing cameras. With the push of a button the forward and upward camera views can be wirelessly toggled, allowing operators to covertly inspect both the interior of a room and the interior side of the door. A telescoping deployment pole enables operators to quickly deploy and maneuver the unit from a position of cover. The Under Door Camera Pro features video recording and wireless video monitoring to PRO Monitors.

Under Door Camera 360

The Under Door Camera 360 is a 4-camera system that provides left, right, forward and upward camera views. All 4 camera views can be wirelessly toggled, allowing operators to covertly inspect all angles of a room or interior side of the door. The Under Door Camera 360 insertion panel houses four cameras, a flood IR illuminator, and a microphone for audio recording. A telescoping deployment pole enables operators to quickly deploy and maneuver the unit from a position of cover. The Under Door Camera 360 features video recording and wireless video monitoring to PRO Monitors.

The under the door camera provides a lot of information to the user and depending on what model you are using should mitigate any surprises.  They also had these two videos explaining a bit more about the system.
