URGENT safety notice from Taurus for their GX4 pistols.
Safely unload and stop using your GX4 IMMEDIATELY. Failure to observe this warning may result in injury or death to you or others.
Some GX4 pistols assembled and sold only in the United States may, under certain circumstances, discharge when dropped.
Taurus has made a special web page for you to enter your GX4’s serial number to see if your pistol is included in this safety notice. If your firearm is not on the safety notice, you may disregard it.
If it is within the notice, Taurus is offering to inspect, repair, and return your pistol for free.
The website is: GX4SafetyNotice.com
Taurus has not released any information on how many GX4 pistols are impacted by this, the date range of pistols manufacturer that might be impacted, or any other details.
While their offer to repair the pistols for free and their website to check if the pistol needs repair is good, the lack of transparency is concerning.
