People SHOT16: Crye Precision Charity Auction Dave Merrill January 20, 2016 Join the Conversation At RECOIL, we review every product fairly and without bias. Making a purchase through one of our links may earn us a small commission, and helps support independent gun reviews. Learn More For the better part of a decade Crye Precision has held a charity auction open to all SHOT Show attendees, and this year is no different. This time around the auction is online, but you bid on items via iPads located in and around the Crye Precision booth. Items to be won run the gamut from high end rifles, longboards, helmets, and one of the main stars of the show: a custom MultiCam Ronin motorcycle. As the name would imply, all proceeds go directly to charitable organizations. This year it will be split evenly between the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, the Unit Scholarship Fund, and the Navy SEAL Foundation. Each year they've raised between $70,000 and $90,000. Here's what Crye had to say about it: Crye is indebted to all these guys for their input towards our product development and for their sacrifices, and this is one of the ways we can give back to them. Another way Crye Precision is raising funds for these organizations is via their Hot Shots calendar. For a suggested donation of $20 you can pick up one for yourself and have it signed by some of the models. To participate, head down to Crye Precision's booth, #32403. The NSSF SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show) and Conference is an annual event held by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Typically attended by thousands of people from all 50 states and over a hundred countries, it is (quite rightfully) described as the “…world's premier exposition of combined firearms, ammunition, law enforcement, cutlery, outdoor apparel, optics, and related products and services. Imagine the Worlds' Fair, but packed with everything from mini-guns and every breed of body armor, bows and boots; from eye pro and ear pro to optics and ordnance, socks to swords…you get the idea. If you'd like to see a sampling of the companies who will be showing at this year's SHOT, there's a live map right here, though it doesn't reflect the organizations set up elsewhere, in hotel suites, etc. View imagery from our coverage of last year's SHOT Show right here. 2016 SHOT Show January 18 — Media on the Range (numerous shooting facilities in and around Las Vegas) January 19–22, 2016 Sands Expo and Convention Center Las Vegas, Nevada Hours: Tuesday, January 19 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 20 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Thursday, January 21 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Friday, January 22 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Explore RECOILweb:Enter Here! 12 Days of Christmas 2019: Day 2 - G CodePreview - Ares Defense SCRLife Gadgetry- LifeStrawB&T USW: Universal Service Weapon NEXT STEP: Download Your Free Target Pack from RECOILFor years, RECOIL magazine has treated its readers to a full-size (sometimes full color!) shooting target tucked into each big issue.
