The Ultimate Firearms Destination for the Gun Lifestyle

The FAB Defense AR-Podium

Just when you think they can't do anything so strange as to catch you off guard anymore they go and release something like this.

This is the FAB Defense AR-Podium.

The way it does this, is…well, just watch for yourself.

Hey, at least you can get it for both the AR-15 and the AK-47.

The AR-Podium and it's COMBLOC-suitable brother is intended, as they tell it, to give the shooter a bipod that “…deploys with the main shooting hand without having to alter the grip on the weapon, or lose sight of the target.”

It's also intended to reduce front end-weight and save real estate on your rails.

Oh, and there's a model that'll fit the Tavor too, so apparently they're serious about this.

FAB-AR-Podium-1

Here are the advantages they list out:

  • •Compact and sleek design with no protruding parts
  • •Rapid deployment mechanism operates by the push of a button
  • •Provides steady and durable bipod platform
  • •Quick and easy installation, no Gunsmith required
  • •Made of light and durable high-end reinforced polymer composite
  • •Saves valuable rail space for additional mounting options
  • •Available in Matt-Black, Olive Drab green  or Flat Dark Earth

That list doesn't mention the tactical advantage you'll gain when an armed opponent sees it deployed and immediately goes into a brain-freeze type moment of open-mouthed astonishment. This is a Good Thing, of course, because once they get over their incredulity you'll want to shoot them for their ridicule.

The AR-Podium installs without a gunsmith and includes all the parts you'll need to install it on your blaster, including a new pistol grip. You can find directions for installation here. You'll still be able to open up the trigger guard even with installed.

Now if they'd only make a model for the M-14 and Mini-14 we'd be completely good to go.

Note — today is October 31, 2016, Halloween. It is not the first of April.
