Outdoor Training opportunity – “Hunter Field Medicine” Recoil Staff September 17, 2014 Join the Conversation If you're going to carry something intended to put holes in something (or someone), it only makes sense that you train to plug those holes in case they wind up somewhere you did not originally intend. Lone Star Medics is running “Hunter's Field Medicine” class this weekend in College Station, TX. (that's relatively close to both Austin and Houston). Hunter's Field Medicine is a basic primer intended for the outdoorsman (or -woman). It will cover some of the more common/likely illnesses and injuries that might suffered by those going hunting, fishing, backpacking, etc. Lone Star Medic's HMFIC Caleb Causey promises “minimal lecture with plenty of hands-on skills practice and scenario based training.” You can register here. Course cost is $165. You can find the full Lone Star Medics schedule online here, or keep track of what they have to say on their Facebook page.
