Trijicon doubles down on accessories, introducing eight new Quick Release Mounts for its RMR and MRO optics platforms.
Featuring low profile, full co-witness, and 1/3 co-witness heights, the Quick Release Mounts are intended to fit an array of shooting needs while offering a quick attach/detach design. Utilizing a 7075 T6 aluminum construction, Trijicon says the mounts meet MIL-Spec drop standards while also delivering durability amid a lightweight design. The four RMR mounts hover around 2-ounces or so, while the MRO lineup largely stays within 1-ounce in weight (sans the MRO offset model which jumps up to 2-ounces in total weight.)
Boasting return to zero on most models, Trijicon also showcases offset variants allowing shooters to mount an RMR or MRO next to their primary optic on either the left or right side. Coated in a matte black anodized finish, the Quick Release Mounts offer Picatinny rail compatibility, in addition to boasting low mounts for Weaver-style bases. The mounts are also constructed to allow each model to fit under magnified optics.
Trijicon's mounts work alongside the company’s popular RMR and MRO optics. The RMR, or Ruggedized Miniature Reflex, is a red dot sight boasting a patented shape designed to absorb and divert impacts away from the lens. Available in LED, adjustable LED, or Dual Illuminated models, the RMR provides dot sizes ranging from 1 MOA to 13 MOA. Heavy on the acronyms, the MRO, or Miniature Rifle Optic, presents a sealed miniature reflex sight design for use on rifles, carbines, and shotguns. The MRO is equipped with fun features such as ambidextrous brightness controls, an advanced lens coating, and a waterproof construction.
Each Quick Release Mount ships with four mounting screws, a hex key, and a handy installation booklet — should you be one of those people that actually read the instructions. The Quick Release Mounts are available from Trijicon with a price tag of $139.
