Havak Pro HP-1 by Seekins Precision Arrives

Written by Jacki Billings

Out of the woodwork comes the new Havak Pro HP-1 from Seekins Precision, marking the first entry in the company’s bolt rifle line.

Chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Win, the Havak Pro HP-1 uses Seekins Precision’s Havak short action. The action features a full diameter bolt with four locking lugs and 90-degree bolt throw. When locked in battery, the Havak’s lugs are oriented at the 3 and 9 o’clock position — a little different than the typical orientation which seats the bottom lug directly behind the feed ramp. The Havac’s placement, according to Seekins, grants a generous feed ramp as well as stationing the bolts in a stronger area of the action.

The 24-inch, match grade 5R barrel flaunts the Seekins’ lite tactical contour and is armed with a 5/8×24 thread pitch (so toss on your favorite can or muzzle break). Seekin’s includes a handy thread protector for those times the rifle is running bare, without the added cool factor of a suppressor.

With a blasted stainless finish, the HP1 is mounted in the Magpul 700 stock with 20 MOA Picatinny rail for mounting optics. The 10-pound rifle ships with a Timney 510 trigger factory set with a 3 to 3.5 pound break. seekins_122917_14_1_1

“Featuring our Havak action, match grade 5R barrel and Magpul stock, this rifle is the perfect platform for you to start competing in the Precision Rifle Series. Or, if you’re just looking to ring some steel at the range, prepare to be on the receiving end of envious remarks and stares from your buddies,” Seekins Precision commented.

The Havak Pro HP-1 features a detachable magazine system and is built to order, retailing for just under $2,000.
