Learn More There's no shortage of cool stuff to see at SHOT Show because duh, it's SHOT Show. There are the obvious items…guns, suppressors, tripods, ammunition, and scopes…and then there were the things on this list. All of these items either made me do a double-take, or just made me feel like I needed them for a reason I couldn't put my finger on. So, in no particular order… I am, admittedly, not the most girly girl, and I don't love the color pink. But Pack N' Heat products grabbed my attention with their magnificently bedazzled ear pro. That's right…bedazzled, and I can't get enough. Available in standard or electronic, and in a variety of colors and patterns (they even have a chrome style if the bedazzled look is not your thing), Pack N' Heat has something to match any style. Electronic muffs feature: 2 wind resistant, high frequency, stereo microphones for precise sound directionality 5x Hearing Enhancement Power – 50dB Volume Control Sound activated compression (SAC) Noise reducing rating, NRR 24dB Power source 2 Alkaline “AAA” batteries included For these and other products from Pack N' Heat, visit http://packnheatproducts.com/. Traditions Crackshot XBR Traditions is known mostly for its fantastic muzzleloaders, but what you see pictured above is not that. It may look like a rifle that shoots arrows, but that's only because it's a rifle that shoots arrows. Yep, it does that, and the backyard shenanigans are seemingly endless with this thing. So, how does it work? The Crackshot is originally a single-shot .22 caliber rifle, but Traditions has added the XBR upper, a barrel that contains an inner tube designed to accept arrows. After sliding an arrow with either a field tip or fixed broadhead on it into the tube, you then break open the gun and put in your .27 caliber Traditions XBR power load, close the gun, pull the hammer back, and then fire…an arrow. The arrows from the Crackshot XBR are tracking at about 385 fps, and reportedly has a maximum effective kill range of about 70 yards. The Crackshot also ships with a 16.5-inch .22 caliber barrel, and the whole package is available for $449 MSRP for a black synthetic stock, and $499 MSRP for the Kryptek model. The Crackshot XBR is expected to be available in Spring 2019. Butler Creek ASAP Automatic Magazine Loader New from Butler Creek is the ASAP AR15 Automatic Magazine Loader. I'll admit that when I stumbled upon this I was skeptical. “No one really needs one of these,” I said to myself, but as with anything else, why would you pass up the option to let someone else do the busy work?! In all honesty though, this little contraption is pretty sweet. It was designed with training facilities and serious competitors in mind. Just fill the hopper with loose rounds, select the desired round count and press a button. That’s it. The machine automatically orientates the ammunition and loads your magazine. Folks, it doesn't get any easier than that. The ASAP Automatic Magazine Loader goes for $329.95 MSRP.
