Learn More Photo credit: Michael Cage As a Special Forces sniper, Shawn Wiseman found competing in the Precision Rifle Series a far more practical sport. Shawn’s 23-year active duty enlistment is extensive. It entails experiences you would be lucky to be within earshot to hear him talk about. From 75th Ranger Regiment to 10th Special Forces Group to various units and positions with in the US Army Special Operations Command, Shawn surpasses the point of qualified as an expert within the firearms industry. Let’s just say he knows a thing or two about shooting guns, how to use them, and how to be a leader in any situation. Shawn Wiseman Perfect timing came into effect when Shawn was able to seamlessly transition from active duty in 2015 to the Director and owner of the Precision Rifle Series (PRS). PRS combines long-range precision shooting with dynamic stages where competitors engage rifle targets in various positions while under the clock. This upcoming year is a big one for PRS. With the addition of two new divisions, a comprehensive PRS Rule Book, and PRS Skills Stages, the Precision Rifles Series is laying a strong foundation as a notable shooting sport. When asked about the improvements, Shawn said: “The Tactical Division was added to allow competitors the opportunity to compete using traditional military and law enforcement calibers. This allows competitors to shoot similar calibers and promotes active duty military and law enforcement competitor’s use of their service issued rifles. The Production Division was implemented in order to provide anyone an opportunity to shoot in a PRS event that wishes to do so that otherwise may not compete due to a lack of equipment. It is an excellent way for new shooters to get involved in the PRS. We are also doing a cash payout for every major match with the overall match winner taking home $1,000.” Photo credit: Michael Cage PRS matches are held across the United States and the 2016 Calendar filling up quickly.
