Vetrepreneurs: Unguided Custom Calls

So sayeth the HMFIC of Unguided Custom Calls, Brian Knapp. Knapp is a former Marine and Purple Heart recipient who turns all his waterfall calls by hand so no two is exactly alike. Duck calls, goose calls – if you need a call that looks and sounds good, here’s a vetrepreneur artisan you might want to check out.

Be the talk of the blind is the Auburn, New York based company’s motto, and given what we see as we go through their pictures we think it’s apt. Some are wet sanded, some are polished, some have silver bands, other black nickel; they come in black pearl, assorted acrylics…in short, he can build just about anything you could possibly want.

Knapp spent 5 years in the Marine Corps with a deployment to Afghanistan, where he was wounded by an IED. He has been making calls for approximately a year now (and apparently also makes tap handles – as you’ll see if you visit Turning Stone Casino at the Upstate Tavern).
